John 3:1-8

Nicodemus came to Jesus armed with religion, morality, knowledge, and status—but Jesus swept it all aside with one thunderous declaration: “You must be born again.” Entrance into the Kingdom cannot be earned through human effort, inherited through religious pedigree, or achieved by self-improvement. Flesh can only produce flesh; only the Holy Spirit can bring forth a spiritual life. Like the wind, His work is sovereign, mysterious, and invisible—yet undeniably revealed by its transforming effects. Ultimately, Jesus did not give Nicodemus a neatly packaged formula for being born again—He gave him Himself: the Son who would be lifted up, because “God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son.” New birth is not found in mastering a method, but in believing and beholding Him who is the author and finisher of our Faith—Jesus the Messiah!
