John 1:35-51

John 1:35–51 captures the breathtaking dawn of discipleship as ordinary men begin to encounter the extraordinary Christ. John the Baptist points to Jesus as “the Lamb of God,” Andrew brings Simon, Philip finds Nathanael, and one invitation echoes through the passage: “Come and see.” Skepticism gives way to revelation as Nathanael stands before the One who knows him completely and confesses, “You are the Son of God! You are the King of Israel!” The passage reaches its climax as Jesus unveils Himself as the true meeting place between heaven and earth—the greater Jacob’s ladder, the Son of Man upon whom heaven itself is opened.
