1 Timothy 1:12-17

In 1 Timothy 1:12–17, the mere mention of the gospel ignites an explosion of gratitude in Paul. Once a blasphemer, persecutor, and violent man, he had received mercy—and grace so exceedingly abundant that Christ saved him, strengthened him, and entrusted him with ministry. Paul never got over being saved—and neither should we. We must never become so familiar with the language of salvation that we lose our astonishment at the glorious gospel that rescued our souls. Remembering His mercy should keep our fire burning, stirring gratitude, devotion, and a longing for others to know our Savior, until thanksgiving erupts into worship: honor and glory to the King eternal!
