1 Peter 1:1-2

We begin our journey through 1 Peter with his opening words to the scattered church. He calls them elect exiles—strangers in the world, yet chosen by the Father’s foreknowledge, sanctified by the Spirit, and sprinkled with the blood of Jesus Christ. In just two verses, Peter anchors their identity in the saving work of the Triune God and sets the tone for the whole letter: we live as outsiders here, but we belong fully to Him. That’s where our series begins—our true identity, our true calling, and the grace and peace multiplied to us in Christ.
