1 Peter 2:11-12
In 1 Peter 2:11–12, Peter reminds believers that we are sojourners and exiles—citizens of another Kingdom passing through this world. Because of that, he urges us to abstain from the passions of the flesh that wage war against our souls. These desires may seem small, but they are spiritual enemies that erode holiness and weaken our witness. Instead, Peter calls us to live with integrity and honor among unbelievers, letting our good deeds speak louder than accusations or slander. When we live uprightly, even those who oppose us may one day glorify God because of the light they saw in us. This passage is both a warning and a commission: to resist the inner war of the flesh and to let our outward lives shine as a testimony of God’s transforming grace.
