Resurrection Sunday

Easter—Resurrection Sunday—marks the moment when Jesus Christ rises from the dead after His crucifixion, vindicating His claims and defeating the power of sin and death. The empty tomb announced to the world that death does not have the final word and that God’s redemptive plan has broken into history. In that moment hope was unleashed into a dark and broken world—hope of forgiveness, hope of new life, and hope that death itself has been overcome. Because of the resurrection, history bends toward restoration and the world will never be the same; what began in a quiet garden with an empty tomb became the turning point of human history and the promise that life, not death, will ultimately prevail.
